This in-depth research project focused on children in the hospital environment. It is well-known that children often face anxiety while in the hospital setting. It was my goal to design something that helped children cope, increasing joy and decreasing anxiety. The final result is a set of blocks that have multiple purposes: for building and creating, a storytelling device, and a puzzle. The overall theme is 'The Escape to Home', building on the fact that the home environment and familiar objects provide security for children in unfamiliar circumstances.
